Yes, you can escape winters!
It’s early March and as I float on my airbed around the beautiful pool at my Cayman Islands villa, with a Margarita in hand and the smell of Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen and Jasmine wafting through the air, I can’t help but feel a tad guilty!
My children who are away at boarding school in England are frantically What’s Apping me images of their snow-covered playing feels draped in 6 inches of thick snow, whilst they shiver in their dorm room! And then, there’s my best friends in Whitby, Ontario busting their guts morning after morning shoveling snow on their driveway, saying the temperature last week plummeted to -19! Plus, my friends in New York and New Jersey today being battered by the fiercest snow storm in 50 years.
One can’t help but ask, is it really possible to escape winters and move overseas to a milder climate? The answer is ‘yes’! Of course, there are many sunny places around the world to live, but the secret is finding one that is safe, expat-friendly and where you can find work. While some look at far reaching destinations, many want to be fairly close to home and The Cayman Islands is a great jurisdiction to consider.
Cayman is serviced by multiple airlines that fly to major US gateway cities and Toronto, Canada. You can be snorkeling in the turquoise waters off Cayman’s world-famous Seven Mile Beach in the morning, and enjoying the ski hills near Blowing Rock North Carolina in a mere 4 hours.
