The Business Analyst/Product Owner is involved with the design and implementation of technology-enabled process reengineering initiatives that drive operational efficiencies

As part of a small dynamic team, and you will be expected to contribute to multiple projects in a high pressure but exciting environment from project initiation to release and handover.Using fundamental Business Analysis techniques as your foundation you will be responsible for providing a definition of a product that best meets the needs of the customer and the business.

As an Agile Product Owner you will partner with business stakeholders to understand, analyse, refine and communicate business needs, so that the development team can build an effective solution. Working with the Project Manager and Scrum Master to deliver, this is an exciting opportunity to drive, influence and participate in planning and development in an evolving agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Business case creation and benefits management throughout the product lifecycle

Assists with the delivery of business change and process improvement.

Communicates and advocates the product vision. Drives and supports change management and communications.

Drives Business Analysis and design in an agile environment. (Business requirements elicitation and elaboration, process design and development and modelling based on BABOK and other techniques).

Shows a detailed understanding of customer needs as it relates to the product backlog. Works with customers, managers, operations and key technical resources to identify stories to be added to the backlog.

Maintains a ranked backlog of user stories and defects based on business value. Ensures the backlog is sized appropriately (Epics, Features, Stories).

Works closely with the other members of the team to resolve issues and develop business/client friendly solutions during sprints

Reports business issues to the Project Manager, Programme Manager and/or CIO

Acts in accordance with legal, regulatory and internal risk management requirements, including complying with policies and procedures.

Contributes to ongoing development of the Business Analysis function, including internal processes, documentation and modelling

Required Experience

Bachelor’s Degree plus 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner or other comparable role.

Strong people and communication skills (written, verbal and presentations to groups).

Effective leadership skills and ability to listen, communicate and motivate teams to achieve results. Can demonstrate the ability to manage demanding and challenging stakeholders.

Strong background of analysis across a number of business processes applications, data definitions, integrations, and varieties of infrastructure.

Has worked in and feels comfortable with international, virtual, multi-cultural, multi-disciplined, and high performance working teams.

Experience reviewing and examining business processes and systems, modeling data, organising activities and developing business strategies.

Demonstrates a high level of quality in work products, including diligence in analysis performed and precision in statements made.

Experience of working as lead analyst on multiple projects in small Agile teams is desirable.

Appropriate analysis training/qualifications are preferred (BCS/ISEB diploma, IIBA certification,)

Agile/Scrum experience desired. Certified Scrum Product Owner or Certified Scrum Professional preferred.
